With out a substantial steel armature, the concrete hull shell will have to be significantly thicker. the only reason ferro works, is it's considerably lighter then a less reinforced mixture, for it's strength to weight ratio. i'd hate to have to calculate the hull shell thickness, on a fiber reinforced hull shell, particularly on a yacht that. Fiber-reinforced concrete (frc) is concrete containing fibrous material which increases its structural integrity. it contains short discrete fibers that are uniformly distributed and randomly oriented. fibers include steel fibers, glass fibers, synthetic fibers and natural fibers – each of which lend varying properties to the concrete. in. That is the reason where ever the word fiber glass is touched ones always thinks of it as insulation boards or boats etc. in fiber glass a reinforced plastic-glass polymer is mixed in a polymer and if instead of that polymer one uses the portland cement and sand, then the resultant material will be known as glass fiber reinforced concrete..
Advantages of glass fiber reinforced concrete. gfrc is an engineered material. its properties can change depending upon the design of mix, fiber content, and the techniques used for manufacture.. Fiber reinforced concrete can be defined as a composite material consisting of mixtures of cement, mortar or concrete and discontinuous, discrete, uniformly dispersed suitable fibers. fiber reinforced concrete are of different types and properties with many advantages.. Glass fiber reinforced concrete is made of a 1" thick cementitious skin, reinforced with alkali resistant glass fibers, and attached to a metal stud frame system. gfrc can be formed into ornate shapes, and its light weight provides many benefits for high rise buildings..
